Cleaning & HouseholdLife Style
Cleaning the entire house is a chore that many of us put off until later. However, if you implement these simple cleaning tips a little at a time, you won’t have to clean the whole house right away. People with spotless homes know these tricks, and now you will too!
2- dust ceiling fans.
You’d probably be disgusted to see how dusty your ceiling fan blades are. Slip an old pillowcase over each blade to trap the dust and keep it from spreading throughout the room.
3- clean the washing machine
The washing machine should be cleaned from time to time to prevent mold, mildew and bacteria. Pour a cup or two of alcohol vinegar into your washing machine and run it empty with hot water.
4- deodorize the mattress
To deodorize your mattress, sprinkle it with a good amount of baking soda. Leave it for about eight hours and then vacuum up the residue with a vacuum cleaner.
5- disinfect your broom
Your broom is probably dirty without you even realizing it. To disinfect it, soak it in a bucket of warm soapy water. Leave it for half an hour, rinse it and let it air dry.
6- Clean wooden cutting boards.
To prevent harmful bacteria from living in the grain of your wooden cutting boards, rub them with the fleshy part of a lemon and coarse salt before rinsing them.
7- unclog your showerhead.
If the showerhead won’t let the normal amount of water through, fill a plastic bag with distilled vinegar and attach it to the showerhead. Leave it overnight, then remove the bag and the water should flow freely.
8- dust the blinds.
Don’t forget to dust the blinds. The easiest way to do this is to put a sock on your hand and run your hand over each blind.
9- refresh your pillows
Start by washing the pillows in the washing machine with detergent and a little bleach. Then toss them in the dryer with some tennis balls to make them puffy and soft again.
10- Restore your leather furniture
If your leather furniture looks dry and scratched, you can use a soft cloth and some olive oil to make it look damp and new again.
11- Wash your shower curtains
Shower curtains also need to be washed from time to time. The curtain itself can be put in the washing machine with a little detergent, and you can clean the plastic liner by rubbing it with distilled vinegar and baking soda.
12-cleaning glass plates
To clean residue and burnt food on a glass-ceramic hob, sprinkle the surface with baking soda. Rub the surface with a cloth soaked in warm soapy water before wiping with another damp cloth.
