Delicious Simple Prosciutto, Pear and Arugula Rolls

Even if you’re not the most experienced cook, you’ll have no trouble making this crowd-pleasing appetizer. In fact, this combination is often the first one that comes to mind when I’m entertaining friends or family. It’s probably the perfect balance of salty prosciutto, sweet pear and peppery arugula that satisfies my guests so much… and keeps them coming back for more.

16 to 18 Servings

Ingredients

  • 115 g (4 oz) cream cheese, room temperature
  • 140 g (5 oz) gorgonzola cheese, crumbled 16 to 18 fines slices prosciutto
  • 2 handfuls of arugula
  • 1 ripe pear (like Bartlett), cut into 16 to 18 slices
  • Handful of toasted hazelnuts, chopped (optional)
  • Balsamic cream vinegar or aged balsamic vinegar, to serve

HOW TO

Mix cream cheese and Gorgonzola cheese well.

Spoon a spoonful of the cheese mixture onto each slice of prosciutto.

Add a few arugula leaves, a slice of pear and chopped hazelnuts, if desired.

Roll up. Secure with toothpicks, if necessary.

Just before serving, top with balsamic vinegar cream.

Tips

The flavor of peaches or plums can also be deliciously combined with this preparation. And don’t hesitate: replace the prosciutto with bresaola, if your heart
says to you.
