Baking soda is the secret weapon for cleaning grout. Simply make a paste with baking soda and water. Then apply the paste to the entire grout. The easiest way to do this is to use an old toothbrush to apply the paste to the grout. Let it sit for 20 minutes, then start scrubbing with a stiff bristle brush or toothbrush. When you are done scrubbing, rinse with water or wipe with a damp cloth.

One thing to keep in mind when using the baking soda paste is that the more baking soda you use, the more likely it is to leave a white residue that will need to be cleaned off later.
How to do it This method is easy, and most people have the ingredients on hand that they use on a daily basis. It has about the same effect as the method using lemon and vinegar (see below), and is a little easier because it does not require squeezing the lemon juice.
