There are areas of my home that I always put off cleaning. Some of these areas include the baseboards, the light fixtures, and of course the glass on the oven door. As for the latter, I don’t know where to begin. Food residue, grease and grime stick to it and are almost impossible to remove from the glass.

But not from now on: with Mr. Clean’s Magic Wipe, you can make your oven glass sparkle again. The abrasive and cleaning agents in the sponge make it an effective tool for removing stuck-on dirt.

To use it, simply wet the Magic Eraser with water and apply a small amount to the oven glass. It takes a little more effort, but the results are worth it. After wiping, wipe clean with a damp cloth. This will leave you with a shiny, clean oven door and no need to cover it with a tea towel.

How to Clean Oven Door Glass-to-Glass

You’ve cleaned the inside glass and the outside window is now shiny. But what about those pesky stains stuck in the middle? This requires you to roll up your sleeves and get out your tools, but it’s possible to clean the inside of the glass.
What you’ll need.

  • Oven instruction manual (if you threw it away a long time ago, you can find one online)
  • Screwdriver
  • A clean towel or sheet (not a good one)
  • Half a cup of baking soda
  • Water
  • Small or medium sized bowl
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Razor blade (optional)
  • Someone to help.
  1. Open the oven door and check the screws. Many ovens use star-shaped screws, so you may need to run to the hardware store and buy a star-shaped screwdriver before you start.
  2. Place a towel on the kitchen floor.
  3. Check your oven manual to see how to remove the oven door.
  4. Get someone to help you remove the door. (The door is heavier than you think, so make sure you don’t do it alone).
  5. Place the door on a towel or sheet and turn the inside window upward.
  6. Remove the screws from the door. There are usually two at the window, and depending on the model of your house, there may also be two at the bottom of the oven door.
  7. Remove the door and place the two sides next to each other. The innermost glass of the door half should be facing up.
  8. Follow the instructions in the “How to clean the inside of the oven window” section above.
  9. If you have someone to help you, assemble the oven door and put it back together.
