The Best Moroccan Tea Recipe To Cure Strep Throat!

The Best Moroccan Tea Recipe To Cure Strep Throat! - Health 2024 | PopcornTime

This Moroccan sore throat tea is probably the best thing I discovered in Morocco. I spent some really cold nights in a desert camp in the Sahara. And by the time I was back to Marrakesh, I started feeling some type of ache in my head, had a feverish feeling and I had a sore throat. And it was awful because I wanted to head back home even though the trip has just started.

And then this lady that hosted us brought a big pot filled with this fragrant Ginger Tea, the Moroccan Strep Throat Tea! I kept drinking it for the next three days and it was the only thing that saved and helped me. The lady told me that the tea was a natural remedy that has taken part in the Moroccan culture for thousands of years. It was so soothing and healing I couldn’t stop drinking it throughout the winter when we got back home. It’s the most comforting tea you’ll ever taste.

I just went back to making it a few weeks ago because I caught another cold. And I became addicted to its comfort and warmth again. Even though I’m over the cold now, I still drink it almost daily. What an addicting recipe!

And it’s not only a good remedy, but it’s also a simple and easy tea recipe. It requires only 3 ingredients; ground ginger, honey, and lemon juice.

Fresh ginger would be great too if you simmer it in hot water. But they always use ground ginger in Morocco because it’s better and more practical. And I started liking it too because it’s easier to use, and it’s really nice to use if you have a sore throat.

Honey is very soothing and it can work as a natural antibiotic. In fact, in ancient Egypt, they discovered its healing properties and used it as the first-ever antibiotics. They used it often as a skin protectant too. But try to use natural raw honey as it works better.

I really advise you to use this soothing remedy for sore throats or colds! And we hope you feel better this cold season.

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups boiling water
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger ( or feel free to use fresh-see notes)

  • squeeze lemon

Instructions

  1. Pour hot water into a mug.
  2. Stir in ginger, honey and a squeeze of lemon.
  3. Adjust honey and lemon to your liking. Sip slowly and repeat as needed.
