The best way to clean your slow cooker
We’d all like to think that there’s an adult manual that tells us the best way to do basic tasks, but the reality is that most of us are on our own. Sometimes, some things can fall through the cracks, like the most effective way to clean your slow cooker. Even if you’re sure your method is the best, we all need a refresher course sometimes, and The 5th Brick House On the Right is here to give it to us with this step-by-step guide to cleaning both the base and the crockpot of your slow cooker.
Tools:
– Easy-Off (Fume Free) oven cleaner
– Bar Keepers Friend powdered cleaner
– Scrubber
Method:
- Spray the Easy-Off oven cleaner into the base and set it aside to sit.
- Wet the surface of the crock and sprinkle on Bar Keepers Friend.
- Sprinkle some Bar Keepers Friend on your scrubber. The powder should be creating a paste.
- Gently scrub the crock for about 5 minutes, depending on how dirty it is. No elbow grease should be required!
5- Now that the base has been sitting for at least 5 minutes with the oven cleaner, turn your attention back to it. Simply wipe the stains with your scrubber and they should come right off!
